The Fastener Training Institute® and the Industrial Fasteners Institute (IFI) will again partner to present a week-long training program for fastener distributors and manufacturers on manufacturing processes, consensus standards and quality control. Fastener Training Institute-Cleveland 2010 is an accelerated version of the acclaimed FTI Certified Fastener Specialist™ advanced technical training program. Instead of seven separate one-day classes, the Cleveland program will be five intensive days of education and plant tours. The curriculum includes:

  • Thread specifications
  • Material specifications
  • Process specifications
  • Dimensional specifications
  • Quality systems and specifications
  • Lot traceability
  • Test reports
  • Print reading and tolerances
  • Thread gaging and dimensional inspection
  • Torque tension

Confirmed facilities to tour include AMAC Enterprises, Cardinal Fastener and Quality Bolt & Screw. Out of professional respect for these volunteer hosts, please understand that representatives of some companies may not be permitted to enter some of the facilities.

Upon completion of this training and passing a final exam, attendees will be eligible to receive the Certified Fastener Specialist™ (CFS) designation.

The FTI/IFI Cleveland 2010 event will feature learning labs taught by leading industry experts, Joe Greenslade (IFI), Carmen Vertullo CFS (Simply Better Inc.), and Salim Brahimi (IBECA Technologies), interactive exercises, quizzes to reinforce learning, and plant tours of manufacturing, secondary processes and testing facilities.

    Given the advanced technical nature of this program, it is highly recommended that participants have at least two years’ experience in fastener sales, purchasing, manufacturing or quality assurance. Registration fee includes:

    • Five consecutive days of training; 3 full days and 2 half days (Monday instruction will begin at noon; Friday instruction will end at 1:00 p.m.)
    • Training materials to take back to the job

    Seminar attendees are responsible for their own hotel reservations. Please contact the Holiday Inn Cleveland South at 216-524-8050. Ask for the special rate of $85 per night plus tax for the ‘Industrial Fasteners’ group.
