On this tour you'll visit facilities that provide secondary processes to fasteners, including plating, heat treating and application of locking devices.

Your tour will include: ND Industries, Pentrate Metal Processing and Sonic Plating.

ND Industries is a leader in the development and application of patches, pellets, threadlockers, threadsealers and a variety of other chemical-based adhesives and sealants for fasteners. The tour will show how a variety of locking elements and sealants are applied. Click here for their website

Pentrate Metal Processing supplies black oxide coating on steel, stainless, brass/copper and zinc. In addition they have phosphate coatings (only steel) and passivation (only stainless) available. Their sister property, California Electroplating, provides copper, nickel and chrome plating on zinc die casting, steel, brass and copper parts. Both shops have automatic process lines and "hand" process lines. Hand polishing for subsequent plating is done in a third location. Click here for their website

Sonic Plating has been serving the fastener industry in Southern California since 1962. They specialize in zinc plating of threaded products. We will see a variety of zinc plating processes, from cleaning through chromate and baking. We also will see passivation of stainless steel and chemical conversion coatings for aluminum. Sonic has an on-site hazardous waste treatment system. Click here for their website
